If you have been to a VQHA event this year you couldn’t help but notice how well our 2023 VQHA Queen has been representing our organization.
Our 2023 Virginia Quarter Horse Queen, Karsyn Green, has been very very busy!! So far she has started out the year by being formally elected at our 2022 VQHA awards banquet where she handed out awards, did a 50/50 raffle, Kelly Herd graciously donated jewelry to be auctioned. Her Queen’s basket was a hit too!! It was a spectacular party and a great way for her to begin her journey.
Since then Karsyn has met the First Lady of Virginia, Mrs. Suzanne Youngkin, Mr. Mathew Lohr, Secretary of Agriculture and Forestry, and Commissioner Guthrie of Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Karsyn attended the Virginia Horse Councils family day weekend where she met with our First Lady again along with many legislators, delegates, as well as Miss Virginia Rodeo Queen Michaela Stern!
She attended the Tidewater Equine Club Award’s banquet where she donated door prizes for all of the youth. Every single youth got a prize. It was a very fun filled afternoon.
Attended the VQHA Clinic. That was a big success and very educational!
Attended Spring Breakout and handed out many awards in the Virginia Maiden and Virginia bred futurities. Promoted our youth as well! It was a great show!!
Attended North Carolina’s Martinganza representing VQHA. There she helped with the Easter egg hunt they put together for the youth kids. They had a blast. She also had a successful show with her horse, Lopintotherhythm, winning Circuit Championship in the Youth Halter.
Karsyn’s Equine Chronicle Congress Ad has been made by Ryan Geiger. Be on the look out in the September/October issue! It’s beautiful!
Attended the Legislative trail ride as a representative for VQHA that was held at Oakland Heights Farm. She met legislators and Kate Chenery Tweedy, daughter of Penny Chenery who owned the one and only Secretariat!! That evening enjoyed the rodeo at the farm. It was an awesome day!
Karsyn also attended the National Stock Horse show in Doswell, Virginia. She donated pizzas and accepted donations before the Legends class began. Helped give out awards as well when the class of 83 entries was completed! Huge success!! A new tradition started at the show where the American and Virginia Flag are held by our Queen and/or youth that volunteer! To end the very successful weekend she won two Circuit Championships, Grand Champion, and Reserve Champion with her horse, Lopintotherhythm, in Youth Halter.
I’d say Karsyn is off to an excellent start!! I know I speak for everyone involved with VQHA when I say we are so proud to have her as our Queen!!!
Thank you for taking the time to catch up on her. Karsyn would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for all of their support!! It’s appreciated so very much and helps more than you know.
