
The Virginia Quarter Horse Association Queen is crowned at the annual VQHA year end awards
banquet and continues until the following year when a new Queen is crowned at the next
banquet. The role of the VQHA Queen, expectations, and overall program requirements are
outlined in the Queen Contest Rules and Expectations document.
The VQHA Queen has the opportunity to participate in various events throughout the
Commonwealth of Virginia and surrounding states, cultivating a network of lifelong friends
inspiring others. Additionally, the Queen has the opportunity to represent Virginia at the All-
American Quarter Horse Congress through participation in the Queen’s contest held in
Columbus, Ohio.
STATEMENT:
For the 2025 application year ONLY, 2026 VQHA Queen applicants are not required to have held a VQHA membership for 12 months prior to the application deadline of August 15th, 2025. However, applicants MUST purchase a 2025 VQHA Membership before the application deadline notated. Applicants also MUST purchase a 2026 VQHA Membership no later than January 5th, 2026. Failure to comply will result in voiding the contestant’s application. This addendum is ONLY for the 2025 application year for the 2026 VQHA Queen position. Applicants must meet all other eligibility requirements and responsibilities outlined in the VQHA Queen’s Program Bylaws provided on the website.
